I currently write across two strands: Historical Fiction and Stoicism. At first they may seem completely different, yet in truth they are closely connected. For me, History and Philosophy are where I find the inspiration to write and to share with others.

History gives us some of the most intriguing and real stories. Much of it remains only partly known. Historians and archaeologists are the greatest storytellers of all. Their work often reminds me of the role-play games I played when I was younger. When I am researching my books I often find little conclusive evidence. The effort that has gone into trying to understand our past is remarkable. The innovative techniques, the piecing together of fragments and the cross-referencing of sources with new technologies are all combined to form something incredible. Yet finally it is a story that is shaped to fit the evidence as best as it can be.
