About Me

As a writer of fiction, I can go further. I can fill in the gaps, offer alternative views where evidence exists but does not match the prevailing opinion, and bring to life a world that historians cannot, though I believe they would welcome it. My first historical novel does exactly this. It tells an exciting and personal story of a monk in the 7th century who meets Bede, the figure who became our predominant historical source for the period. Through their conflict, the narrative questions and evaluates the historical record while still giving readers the adventure, drama, and human connections that any good historical novel of this period should provide.
